The Annual ICCAC: Strengthening Bonds, Renewing Ties

The yearly conduct of Inter- Collegiate and Campuses Athletic Competition, although aimed at developing sports and promoting healthy athletic contest has deeper significance and more subliminal meaning to the members of the SLSU family.

Although accompanied by innumerable problems and difficulties, delegates from satellite campuses led by their similarly enthusiastic campus directors made it a point to converge at the main campus for this yearly explosive sports clashes and animated release of untapped energy, talents and beauty. It is indicative that this activity is a welcome event which even the smallest of the campuses has been waiting for and a signal of willingness for officials and students to be united.

For this year’s event, added was the students’ night to serve as a social venue expected to spark fresh acquaintances and renewed friendships among the main and satellite campuses’ students as live bands play their favorite “ear splitting “pieces.

Also as scheduled, the Welcome Fellowship was hosted by the members of the Administrative Council as a gesture of goodwill to satellite campus officials and faculty and return the usual hospitality accorded to ADCO during most visits to satellite campuses.

In the recent ICCAC 2012, made truly remarkable by the presence of Congressman Juan Edgardo Angara, Chair of House Committee on Higher and Technical Education and member SLSU Board of Regents, the University once more showed to the world not just the fulfillment of the purpose to excel in Sports but also the ability and the possibility to work together, enjoy and live together as a family and achieve the unwritten objective of strengthening bonds and renewing ties, and finally show that above anything else, human relations chalk the highest points in the arena of man’s daily challenges.
