Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) representatives, including Ms. Jenet C. Tejada, a Science Research Specialist, and Ms. Amber Rose Burn DG. Olvida, a Science Research Technician, visited Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) to extend complimentary thesis advisory and career guidance services to its College of Agriculture (CAg) students. They paid courtesy to SLSU officials, specifically the Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, and Development Initiatives (REPDI), Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, and the Office of Research Services (ORS) Director, Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto.
As the planned event will coincide with the Women’s Month celebration, a representative from the SLSU Gender and Development Office, Ms. Evie Noelle Ledesma, was also present to ensure that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity within the academic sphere.
Afterward, Dr. Guinto and Ms. April Arianne A. de Leon, Education Program Specialist of ORS, accompanied the ERDB representatives to a brief meeting with the Dean of CAg, Dr. Juanita A. San Jose, and the BS Forestry Program Chairperson, Dr. Amalia E. Almazol, to discuss logistical details of the forthcoming activity. This included scouting potential venues for the event and ensuring all necessary arrangements were in place to facilitate a seamless experience for participating students.
The initiative of ERDB aims to assist students in refining their research topics, developing robust methodologies, and ensuring the academic rigor of their work. Furthermore, the career orientation component of the initiative seeks to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about their future career paths.
Overall, the collaborative effort between ERDB and SLSU represents a significant step towards empowering students with the resources and support needed to excel academically and professionally.
