SLSU, Thai experts engage in innovative learning on distance education

On February 24, Dr. Kamolrat Intaratat and Dr. Piyachat Lomchavakarn, distinguished delegates from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, Thailand, visited Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) to exchange insights on distance education. They are warmly welcomed by President Dr. Frederick T. Villa, along with Resource Linkages Director Dr. Cecilia N, Gascon, and International Affairs and External Linkages Dr. Joanna Paula E. Verano.

The programme at Banahaw Hall, SLSU Hotel, commenced with an opening remark from the Graduate School OIC-Dean, Dr. Marife S. Magpantay, who expressed her appreciation for furthering learning opportunities through distance education. This was followed by a special message from the university president, who expressed gratitude to the guest for sharing valuable insights on the topic and exploring collaboration opportunities as well.

Dr. Intaratat provided a comprehensive overview of her engagement in distance education, highlighting the ecosystem of a holistic education, micro-credit courses such as e-Smart Ageing course, Digital Entrepreneurship, Smart Farm, and AI Skills. She also illustrated Thai’s Education 4.0 driven by ICT and innovation. The talk concluded with an appreciation message on the insightful sharing on distance education from VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dhenalyn Aquino-Dejelo. Following the photo opportunity, the College deans and other officials engaged in networking and discussions.
