Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) has approved four impact assessment studies to evaluate the effectiveness of its completed extension programs, as part of its commitment to quality and impactful community extension services.
The Office of Research Services (ORS) recently held an Inception Meeting and Research Contract Signing at the REPDI Training Center in SLSU Lucban, formally launching institutional core-funded projects designed to measure the outcomes of key extension initiatives.

This collaboration aims to foster economic growth, innovation, and academic engagement in Quezon Province, strengthening the university’s role in community development and industry support.
Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto, ORS Director, opened the event by commending the project proponents on their approved research projects. Thanking everyone for their efforts in crafting each proposal, Ms. Jean Venelie G. Raga, Education Program Specialist I, presented each newly approved project and outlined the contents of the SLSU research contract. At the same time, Ms. Jillian H. Bautista, Science Research Assistant, discussed the progress and budget monitoring procedures for the university’s ongoing research with the Office of Research Services (ORS).
Dr. Felino J. Gutierrez, Jr., Director of the Office of Extension Services, delivered closing remarks, thanking participants for their contributions to advancing SLSU’s research and extension missions.
The approval of these studies highlights SLSU’s dedication to ensuring meaningful, measurable outcomes from its extension programs. By systematically assessing impact and refining strategies, the university aims to strengthen its role in community development and sustainable progress.
