SLSU conducts in-house CSC Supervisory Development Course 2

Through the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Human Resource Management Office - Faculty and Staff Development Program (HRMO-FSDP), in collaboration with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region IV, members of the Administrative Council, administrative officers, and non-teaching personnel of the university underwent the Supervisory Development Course 2 training, July 6 to 9.

The four-day training, held at the SLSU Banahaw Hall, Lucban, Quezon, focused on strengthening relationships between team leaders and their members; enhancing performance through coaching, mentoring, and counseling; empowering employees to lead more effectively and cultivating a better working environment; guiding them to improve processes; and, highlighting the importance of performance evaluation and the conduct of effective work meetings.

CSC Region IV Chief Human Resource Specialist, Dr. Momer N. Suringa, served as the resource person during the first two days, which emphasized the values of good working relations, coaching, mentoring, and counseling, thus further enhancing workplace performance.
For the last two days, Dr. Melvin S. Domingo, CSC Region IV Policies and System Evaluation Division Chief Human Resource Specialist, underscored the significance of empowering team members, tracking performance, and conducting productive work meetings.

At the closing ceremony, participants shared their key takeaways from the training sessions, reflecting on what they learned throughout the training program.

Further, during his closing message, SLSU President Frederick T. Villa emphasized that a great supervisor builds great teams, and great teams build good organizations. He reminded the participants, both current and future office leaders, that they must ensure tasks are clearly understood, properly supervised, and accomplished on time.

This activity marks the second installment, following the first batch held last April 27 to 30. Last year, SLSU funded the first track in collaboration with CSC.
