Ecosystem Accounting Training

Dr. Jobert G. Lomboy, along with other personnel of SLSU, attended the Ecosystem Accounting Training hosted by DOST-PCAARRD on April 24-29 at Summit Ridge, Tagaytay City.

The training was in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Los Baños Interdisciplinary Program on Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management (IdSC-INREM) and the Economy and Environment Group Philippines (EEG). Participants have come from different universities from different regions and government agencies.

Highlight of the training was the development of proposals that intend to put economic valuation to ecosystem services of various ecosystems based on the System of National Accounting.

DO Research and Move Forward

SLSU-Alabat faculty, staff, and select students participated in the “Propose, Protect, Profit: A Seminar-Workshop for Research Proposal Writing, Intellectual Property (IP) Management, and Technology Transfer” facilitated by the Office of Research Services and Innovation and Technology Support Services Office, April 26.

The affair was primarily led by Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, Development, and Innovation. Meanwhile, Dr. Nona D. Nagares led the team of speakers and facilitators of the said seminar.

SLSU continuously seeks to empower the entire academe through strengthening innovations and research.

12th NARSUC National Convention and Seminar Workshop

Our OIC-Campus Director and Assistant Registrar, Prof. Lyn Vargas-Tapan, has just recently completed the 12th National Convention and Seminar-Worskhop of National Association of Registrars of State Universities and Colleges (NARSUC), Inc. at Iloilo City from April 19-21, 2023.

The event and its activities revolved around the theme “NARSUC: Revisiting Registrars’ Mandate Weathering Challenges, Achieving Goals and Incorporating Strategies Focused in the 4Ns (New, Now, Next, Normal)”.

Prof. Vargas-Tapan was joined by fellow Assistant Registrars all over SLSU and led by our University Registrar, Prof. Mariebeth P. Seño.
