Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) received an Unmodified Opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office IV-A for the fair presentation of its financial statements as of December 31, 2024, marking the first Unmodified Opinion issued to the University under the administration of Dr. Frederick T. Villa as University President.
The Unmodified Opinion affirms that SLSU’s financial statements fairly present its financial position in accordance with the applicable financial reporting standards.
Dr. Villa described the audit result as proof of SLSU’s transparency and integrity in handling public funds. “Ang pagkakaloob ng Unmodified Opinion ng Commission on Audit sa Southern Luzon State University ay isang malinaw na patunay ng maayos, tapat, at transparent na pamamahala ng ating pondo at yaman ng unibersidad na ibinigay ng national government. Pinatutunayan nito sa ating mga stakeholder—ang mga guro, kawani, estudyante, at publiko—na ang SLSU ay responsable at matapat sa paggamit ng pondo ng bayan. Ito rin ay isang tagumpay ng kolektibong pagsisikap ng buong pamantasan tungo sa mahusay na serbisyo at pamumuno,” Dr. Villa stated.
“We would also like to congratulate and appreciate the work and dedication of our finance departments and units for this feat. Hindi natin ito magagawa if wala sila,” Pres. Villa added.
The Annual Audit Report was prepared by COA Audit Team members Mr. Mark Joel C. Obina (Team Leader) and Ms. Claudette D. Maan, under the supervision of Mr. Rodolfo M. Asuncion, Supervising Auditor.
