A significant step toward digitizing is taking shape at SLSU JGE Tagkawayan, following a preliminary coordination implementation led by MIS Head Francis Pasumbal and University Registrar Maribeth Seño, together with the Campus Administrator of Southern Luzon State University - Judge Guillermo Eleazar (SLSU JGE) Tagkawayan, Edsel Paroan, and his staff.
The implementation formally outlined the roadmap for the implementation of online enrollment for Academic Year 2026–2027, identifying responsibilities, timelines, and preparatory measures necessary for a smooth rollout.
Mr. Pasumbal discussed the technical framework for migrating the physical copy of student records, including second to fourth year students, returning and previously enrolled students, into a standardized database migration format. He emphasized the importance of data accuracy, structured templates, and strict validation processes to prevent discrepancies, particularly in student grades and identification records.
Meanwhile, the University Registrar highlighted the role of their office in monitoring and validating encoded data, ensuring that all migrated records are carefully cross-referenced with existing hard copies before final system integration.
MIS-ICT Information System Analyst II Jedd Borgonia delivered a brief presentation outlining the proposed system workflow, including the data migration framework, encoding process, and coordination efforts with the main campus to ensure technical alignment and support upcoming hands-on training sessions.
The timeline and target completion date of data encoding were set, followed by comprehensive validation, in preparation for the enrollment period. Once implemented, the Online Enrollment System is expected to significantly reduce long queues, streamline transactions, and provide students with easier access to academic records.
