SLSU among 2025 FOI champions

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) earned recognition as 2nd runner-up under the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Category in the 2025 Freedom of Information Awards organized by the Presidential Communications Office, November 28.

Representing the University in receiving the award were SLSU President Frederick T. Villa, Executive Assistant Jay Mel Nicomedez, and Records Management Office Director, Eliza P. Beltran, with the latter also earning a distinction as one of the 2025 Best FOI Officers.

Since 2021, SLSU has been acknowledged annually for its exceptional and significant contribution in promoting the FOI program. In the previous year, Ms. Aurora L. Sumague, SLSU’s University and Board Secretary, likewise earned the title of Best FOI Officer.

Every year, the FOI Awards gathers institutions and advocates from across the country, celebrating exemplary initiatives in transparency and citizen empowerment. With this achievement, SLSU reaffirms its position at the forefront of FOI implementation and continues to inspire excellence in public accountability.

This year’s FOI awards was held at The Bellevue Manila, Filinvest City, Muntinlupa.
