On May 5, 2025, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) formalized two strategic partnerships through newly signed Memoranda of Agreement, reinforcing its commitment to educational safety and agricultural sustainability.
SLSU first signed an agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tayabas City to address gender-based violence in public schools. Leading this research initiative is Dr. Leomar Miano, overseeing the launch of the Mobile Pocket Guide App with Chatbox—a tool designed to strengthen case referral mechanisms and provide accessible support to promote safer and more inclusive learning environments across Quezon Province.
Following this, SLSU entered into another agreement with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Panukulan to advance pineapple production in Panukulan, Quezon. This collaborative extension program aims to ensure sustainable agricultural operations, providing local producers with strategic support and development opportunities to foster long-term growth in the region’s pineapple industry. The project will be led by Dr. Claire Ann M. Yao, alongside Dr. Miano and Ms. Nicole Ann Lago as project members.
Through these strategic collaborations, SLSU continues to drive impactful change, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for community development, sustainability, and educational empowerment.
