SLSU, DSWD IV-A, LGU Lucban conduct gender sensitivity training for 4Ps male spouses

On April 15, the partnership between Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), Department of Social Welfare and Development, Field Office IV-A (DSWD IV-A), and Local Government Unit of Lucban (LGU Lucban) successfully conducted the extension activity, “Gender Sensitivity Training for Male Spouses,” at the LGU Lucban Livelihood Center, Brgy. Tinamnan, Lucban, Quezon.

The training aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of gender and development concepts, gender issues, and promote gender societal roles particularly for the beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Through interactive discussions and activities, the session encouraged male spouses to recognize and appreciate the contributions of their wives in improving family well-being.

The module discussion was led by Ms. Roselyn Aductante, Lucban Municipal Link from DSWD IV-A. She encouraged a collaborative environment wherein, participants can freely share their own thoughts and experiences. Furthermore, engaging exercises were also conducted to help husbands better understand the challenges and efforts of their spouses, reinforcing mutual respect and support within households.

This initiative is part of an ongoing tripartite partnership among SLSU, DSWD IV-A, and LGU Lucban to enhance gender sensitivity among 4Ps beneficiaries in the municipality
