SLSU IEG, TK collaborates with municipal agriculturists to strengthen fishery law enforcement in Polillo Group of Islands

The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG) Center holds a meeting with Municipal Agriculturists from the Polillo Group of Islands to advance the implementation of their Area Specific Action Plan (ASAP). The gathering, held at the Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. office in Lucena City, May 19.

A key outcome of the meeting was the finalization of a “Fishery Law Enforcement Training for Bantay Dagat,” scheduled for June 2025, the training will take place at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – National Brackishwater Fisheries Technology Center (BFAR-NBFTC) in Pagbilao, Quezon.

The initiative underscores the commitment of SLSU IEG and local stakeholders to promotes marine conservation efforts and ensure sustainable fishery practices. By equipping Bantay Dagat enforcers with updated knowledge and skills, the program aims to strengthen the protection of coastal resources in the Quezon Province.
