
Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) inaugurated four newly completed infrastructure projects at SLSU Lucban, in celebration of its 18th University Charter Day, March 24.
The first to be inaugurated was the SLSU Radio and TV Broadcasting Station, completed on February 27, 2024, with a budget of PhP 23,237,862.76. Strategically located in front of the Laboratory School Building at the SLSU Main Campus, the state-of-the-art facility features fully equipped studios, offices, and technical spaces to support seamless media production and broadcasting. The station will also serve as a hands-on training ground for students in communication and media studies.
Next was the upgraded College of Allied Medicine (CAM) Skills Laboratory and the newly established BS Radiologic Technology Skills Laboratory. Completed on October 2 and 6, 2024, respectively, these projects received funding of PhP 865,000 and PhP 890,300.00. The enhanced facilities provide students with industry-standard training spaces, equipping them with practical skills essential for the healthcare sector.
SLSU also inaugurated the new study area on the 3rd floor of the Student Center in the Main Campus, completed on May 10, 2024, with an allocation of PhP 1,493,486.43. The project expanded the existing facility to accommodate more students, fostering a conducive environment for academic collaboration, study sessions, and community engagement.
Lastly, the university celebrated the improvement of the Tissue Culture Laboratory at the College of Agriculture in Barangay Ayuti, Lucban, Quezon. Completed on September 10, 2023, with a budget of PhP 4,899,999.75, the upgraded laboratory enhances research and development efforts, providing modernized equipment and improved infrastructure to support agricultural innovation.
These newly completed projects reinforce SLSU’s commitment to enhancing student learning, media production, healthcare training, and research capabilities.
