SLSU, CarSU hold initial meeting for upcoming Admission and Enrollment System

The Offices of MIS-ICT, Student Admission, and Registrar, together with the Caraga State University (CarSU) MIS team, conducted an online meeting on Tuesday, April 8, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, via video conference, to discuss the pre-implementation plan for the upcoming Admission and Enrollment System. This critical meeting focused on analyzing the current system utilized by CarSU and exploring how it could be improved and tailored to meet the specific requirements of Southern Luzon State University (SLSU).

The meeting was led by Mr. Francis Ervin Pasumbal, Head of SLSU MIS-ICT Office, and was attended by the personnel under the University Registrar, Prof. Maribeth Seño; Student Admission Office Head, Prof. Gerald Villaseñor; and MIS-ICT Development Team.

Mr. Dave Anthony Asis, CarSU MIS Head, represented their university. He gave an introduction before turning over the presentation to Mr. Herbert Caringal, CarSU Information Systems Analyst II. Mr. Caringal provided an in-depth walkthrough of CarSU’s current Admission and Enrollment System.

The team also addressed the challenges of transitioning from the old SLSU admission and registration process to a more modernized approach. During this, a healthy exchange between department heads and their teams occurred while discussing the processes that require the earliest development and the pressing issues that need resolution once this new process begins.

In conclusion, all parties agreed to hold a second meeting to continue the discussions on how SLSU will adapt to the new admission process and finalize the target date for the transition.

As the project moves forward, the SLSU MIS-ICT Development Team remains committed to fostering innovation and ensuring that the Admission and Enrollment System becomes a model of excellence for the university.
