Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) has taken significant steps toward modernizing its financial management by conducting the "Initial Training and Preparation for the Automation of Financial Processes Using the Financial Automation Resource Management (FARM) System." This innovative initiative, carried out in collaboration with Caraga State University (CarSU), ushers in a new era of innovation and efficiency in the university's financial operations.
The event was held from January 23 to 24 at the SLSU Hotel and brought together the heads of offices from the Office of the Vice President for Academic and Financial Affairs. It has become a hub for cooperation and information exchange as SLSU prepares for the full deployment of the FARM system, which will improve the accuracy, efficiency, and accountability of SLSU’s financial processes.
The ceremony began with a heartfelt greeting from SLSU President, Dr. Frederick T. Villa. He expressed his gratitude to CarSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil and his team, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving institutional goals. Dr. Villa emphasized the relevance of the FARM system in altering financial procedures at SLSU and expressed his hope for its success.
Dr. Arvin N. Natividad, OIC Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, spoke on the university’s transition to automation. He paid tribute to the late MIS-ICT head, Mr. Gilbert Andaluz, who initiated the communication and planning for upgrading financial operations. Dr. Natividad also acknowledged the pivotal role of the current MIS-ICT head, Prof. Reynaldo V. Danganan, whose leadership and dedication, combined with the unwavering support of the SLSU administration, turned this long-standing vision into reality.
The training was delivered by Mr. Dave Anthony P. Asis, head of the CarSU MIS Office, and Mr. Herbert B. Caringal, Information Systems Analyst II. Their experience and comprehensive instruction equipped the attendees with the skills and information needed to successfully deploy the FARM system.
With the FARM system, SLSU is on course to make a new record for efficiency and modernization, reinforcing its commitment to quality and service to its stakeholders. The training shows the university’s willingness to adopt future-ready techniques, which benefits the community and the area it serves.
