Associate Professor Kathreena G. Engay-Gutierrez of the Forestry and Environmental Science Department, College of Agriculture here in Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), has been appointed as a Regular Member of Division VI - Agriculture and Forestry of the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP).
The DOST-NRCP serves as the country’s foremost scientific advisory body, tasked with fostering and advancing scientific research initiatives across various sectors. Membership in the council is highly esteemed and is granted based on demonstrated research productivity and excellence, as evaluated by the respective division’s governing board.
Associate Professor Engay-Gutierrez’s appointment marks a historic milestone for SLSU, as she becomes the first Regular Member of the NRCP from the university. This achievement marks not only her individual accomplishments but also highlights the quality of research being conducted within the institution.
