SLSU Delegation joins 2025 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting in Cavite

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) actively participated in the 2025 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting (LRSM), held on May 20–21, at Abagatan ti Manila, Alfonso, Cavite. With its theme, “Bioscience Innovations: Transforming Enterprise Ecosystems for Wealth Creation,” the event brought together experts, policymakers, researchers, and educators to explore how bioscience can drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth across Luzon.

Representing SLSU were Dr. Arvin N. Natividad, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Ms. Jean Venelie G. Raga, Educational Program Specialist I from the Office of Research Services; and Mr. Aeriel Gilbert P. Dimaranan, Crafts Education Demonstrator I from the Office of Production Services. Their participation reflected the university’s dedication to research, innovation, and meaningful contributions to science-driven development.

The event kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the scientific poster exhibit, which showcased groundbreaking research from institutions across Luzon. Among the distinguished guests were high-ranking officials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), including DOST Undersecretary Sancho A. Mabborang, NAST PHL President Academician Jaime C. Montoya, National Scientist Raul F. Fabella, and other esteemed figures.

Over two days, plenary sessions led by NAST academicians and STI experts underscored the vital role of bioscience in tackling local and regional challenges, strengthening community resilience, and fostering innovation-driven enterprises. These discussions encouraged science-based, interdisciplinary solutions while reinforcing collaboration between government, academia, and industry leaders.

SLSU’s active participation in the LRSM highlights its commitment to advancing scientific research and contributing to policies that promote innovation, sustainability, and economic growth. Events like these continue to serve as crucial platforms for shaping a future where science, technology, and enterprise work hand in hand for national progress.
