Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), through its Technology Business Incubator (TBI), brought members of the University community closer to the experiences of local entrepreneurs through Fireside Chat 2.0 on September 17, at the main campus in Lucban, Quezon.

The TBI organized the activity to provide a space for conversations on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and resilience grounded in actual business experiences. The session featured four entrepreneurs from Quezon Province: Ma. Louichiel S. Labat, President of Ouan’s The Farm Resort; Irene Rita M. Becerra, President of Vin Vie Integrated Farm Corporation; Antonio “Tonio” A. Hachaso, Owner of Tonio’s Sisig; and, Queen Anne Xyza A. Salayo, Owner of Banahaw Creations.

Through their stories, the invited entrepreneurs shared practical insights on building and managing businesses, responding to challenges, pursuing opportunities, and applying innovation in their enterprises. The conversation also provided a closer look at how science, technology, and entrepreneurial thinking can support businesses as they adapt to evolving needs and opportunities.

Students, faculty members, and staff also had opportunities to engage with the invited industry representatives through an open forum, creating a more direct exchange of experiences and perspectives between the academe and local enterprises.

More than sharing business stories, Fireside Chat 2.0 created a connection between academic learning and entrepreneurial practice. Through the initiative, SLSU TBI provided the University community with an opportunity to learn directly from local entrepreneurs and better understand how ideas, innovation, and experience can contribute to Quezon Province’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
