“Ako and Aking Pamilya at Pamayanan, Sama-sama sa Patuloy na Pagtawid sa Tagumpay” – SLSU in Partnership with DSWD FO IV-A and LGU-Lucban

On December 19, 2023, SLSU Office of Extension Services,partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office IV-A (DSWD FO IV-A) and the Local Government Unit of Lucban to conduct the "4Ps Lucban General Assembly and Pugay Tagumpay 2023" at the SLSU Gymnasium in Lucban, Quezon. The event served as a platform to honor and celebrate the achievements of families from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Lucban. Dr. Leomar C. Miano, the Director of Extension Services, welcomed the participants with congratulatory remarks, acknowledging the accomplishments of the 4Ps graduates and their families. Emphasizing the importance of self
reliance, she encouraged families not to overly rely on government assistance but to utilize it as a catalyst for improving their lives.

Addressing the theme Ako ang Aking Pamilya at Pamayanan, Sama-sama sa Patuloy na Pagtawid Patungo sa Tagumpay,” Dr. Marissa C. Esperal provided valuable insights on personal, familial, and community improvement strategies during the assembly. A highlight of the event was the “Mura at Masustansya, Bonggang Noche Buena Food Preparation Contest,” showcasing the culinary talents of parent groups. The contest emphasized the camaraderie among participants, as they presented dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients. The esteemed panel of judges, consisting of Dr. Bienalyn D. Tolentino from SLSU-CIT, Prof. Manilyn G. Zubieta from SLSU-CABHA, and Ms. Lorelie L. Baltazar from DSWD FO IV-A, evaluated the creativity and taste of the entries.

A total of 22 Parent Groups and over 700 individuals actively participated in this engaging and celebratory  activity, reinforcing the sense of community and promoting the spirit of self-reliance among the beneficiaries of the 4Ps program in Lucban, Quezon.
