Health Education Seminar for Tuberculosis (TB) Patients of Lucban

Tuberculosis (TB) is a potentially deadly infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs and can also spread to other parts of the body. The Rural Health Unit of Lucban seeks SLSU aid to combat Tuberculosis. Through the extension project “Baga Mo, Alaga Ko” the RHU identified forty (40) patients who have an active TB, and the household who has a greater chance of developing pulmonary tuberculosis. These individuals will become the beneficiary who will receive health education seminars from the college. The health seminar is on December 21, 2023, at RHU Lucban. Twenty initial participants attend the seminar.

During the activity, Prof. Brainerd Aldrin H. Lopez, Dr. Ana Violeta Cruz, Dr. Sandra Elma, and Prof. Charito Lilibeth Dator serve as the facilitators and resource speakers, together with the staff of RHGU Lucban. Furthermore, participants actively engage in the question and answer portion, wherein they are asked to complete and repeat their learning from the discussion. The participants receive accurate and up-to-date information about tuberculosis while their awareness about this public health issue is also raised.

The College of Allied Medicine’s Baga Mo, Alaga Ko, will continue its implementation in the succeeding year.
