The program, KALAHI-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan—Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services), conducted a cash payout for 213 student and alumni beneficiaries on October 30.
During the event, the President of Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), Dr. Frederick T. Villa, highlighted how the program helped the students in their studies through financial aid. Further stating that KALAHI-CCIDDS is a good investment program of the government in helping the students and alumni and in uplifting the country’s economy, which was supported by the statement of Mr. Nelson P. Robles, Regional Project Coordinator.
Ms. Charrie Rago, Senator Imee R. Marcos’ First District Spokesperson, assured that the senator would continue supporting SLSU.
Asst. Prof. Aurelio Teodoro Maguyon III, Dean of the SLSU Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), expressed his gratitude to the program implementers and beneficiaries, acknowledging their vital role in providing better services. Moreover, Dr. Arvin N. Natividad testified to the significant contribution of the KALAHI-CIDSS beneficiaries in university offices, emphasizing gratitude for the program. Several beneficiaries also expressed their appreciation.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Gino Cabrera discussed career planning among the beneficiaries, sharing tips on landing a job.
Assoc. Prof. Julieta A. Lindo, Head of the Career and Job Placement Services of OSAS, formally closed the program.
The cash assistance given to each beneficiary depended on the hours they assisted the various offices of SLSU.
Since November 2023, the program has benefited 853 SLSU students and alumni.
