In a bid to foster economic growth and empower residents of Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Villages in selected Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) within Quezon Province, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) has successfully conducted a comprehensive training program. The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Quezon I, covered key aspects of entrepreneurship and aimed to equip participants with essential skills for sustainable development.
Participants are trained in the following aspects, Marketing and Entrepreneurial Mindset; Leadership and Values Formation; Supply and Value Chain Management; Entrepreneurial Accounting and Financial Management; Product Development. In addition, participants are also trained on food processing including tomato sauce and tomato ketchup processing, and meat processing. The program, run from October to December 2023, washeld in the municipalities of Tiaong and Sariaya, Quezon, ensuring accessibility for participants from the targeted BP2 Villages.
Furthermore, a culminating activity is held on December 21-22, 2023 at Tagaytay, which is attended by ARCs of Sariaya and Dolores, Quezon. These activities is led by Dr. Leomar C. Miano, project leader together with Dr. Chona V. Cayabat, Dr. Felino J. Gutierez, Prof. Claire Ann M. Yao, Prof. Aurita A. Laguador, and Prof. Gino A. Cabrera, project members.
