Dr. Felino J. Gutierrez, Jr., a faculty from the College of Agriculture, participated at the international conference on October 18-20, 2023 in SEARCA, Los Banos, Laguna as one of the facilitators/rapporteurs and research paper presenter. He shared the highlights of the study on “Social Fencing Strategy in Protected Area Management and Resource Conservation: The Case of Mounts Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape.” The research analyzed the relevance of social fencing as a community-based conservation strategy used in Mt. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape, in biodiversity conservation, protected area management and upland community development. This coincides with the theme – “Emerging Trends, Dimensions, and Models in Agriculture and Environment Education, and Extension in Post Pandemic Times”, specifically on the subtheme on “Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture.”
