SLSU undergoes ISO 9001:2015 first surveillance audit

The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) underwent a two-day audit with the external auditors from TÜV Rheinland.

During the Opening Program on April 2, Dr. Gillian Portia P. Dimaranan, director of the Quality Assurance Office, described the event as a good opportunity to help the university grow and improve.

The audit Team, led by Ms. Cecilia Ignacio and her team consisting of Ms. Elisa Cruz, Mr. John Francis Faustorilla, Jr., and their technical expert, Ms. Jessy Jessica Rosit, has provided feedback to ensure that SLSU complies with the standards and effectively improves the management system to maintain the existing certification.

The initial audit summary report found 7 positive findings, 20 opportunities for improvement, and 7 minor non-conformities on the next day. The positive findings highlighted SLSU’s awards and recognition, the research awards, and the students’ efforts and contributions to the various licensure examinations, leading the institution to rank among the top-performing schools.

Overall, the auditors found that SLSU complied with, adequately maintained, and implemented the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2015. They have recommended the maintenance of the existing certification of SLSU. As such, Dr. Frederick T. Villa, the University President, thanked the internal and external auditors, SMS consultants Ms. Susan M. Soliven and Ms. Mary Ann Victorio, who supported and assisted SLSU during the event, as well as the process owners, for their commitment to achieving excellence.

On the other hand, the next audit will be conducted by February 19, 2026.
