The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), with the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute (DA ATI) IV-A and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Quezon, conducted a Field and Desk evaluation for the Municipal Agriculture Office (OMA) of Infanta, Quezon as a potential Farmerโ€™s Information Technology Services (FITS) Center.

The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), with the Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Training Institute (DA ATI) IV-A and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Quezon, conducted a Field and Desk evaluation for the Municipal Agriculture Office (OMA) of Infanta, Quezon as a potential Farmerโ€™s Information Technology Services (FITS) Center.
Dr. Leomar C. Miano, TGP Quezon Team Leader, Dr. Lloyd Balinado, Deputy Consortium Director of STAARRDEC, Ms. Hanna Phoebe Romero, FITS Manager of Quezon Province, and Mr. Hans Christopher Flores of DA ATI CALABARZON, led the field and desk evaluation. They assessed the officers and staff of OMA Infanta to determine their readiness and capability to become a FITS Center.
In addition, the Office of Extension Services (OES) conducted monitoring of the existing FITS Center and KIOSK at the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of General Nakar, Quezon, located in Barangays Anolin and Pamplona. Engr. Jethro Auditor, Agricultural Technologist of OMA General Nakar and also the Information Service Specialist (ISS), participated in the monitoring activities ensuring the effective operation of their FITS centers and KIOSKs.
FITS centers are under the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) of the DA ATI, which aims to enhance the agricultural services and support provided to farmers, by improving their access to agricultural information, resources, and technology.
