To further strengthen gender justice and gender-transformative education at the university, Assoc. Prof. Gino A. Cabrera, SLSU Faculty Regent, represented the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) in presenting its syllabus as part of the Learning Exchange Program in Gender-Transformative Syllabi organized by the ASEAN University Network Gender Justice and Inclusion (AUN-GJI) in partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO-RIHED), held at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from August 31 to September 3.

Following the dialogue on gender-transformative curriculum in the ASEAN in December 2025, the program convened members of the AUN-GJI network and colleagues from AUN member universities, including university educators, curriculum developers, and researchers from diverse disciplines across Southeast Asia to share concrete strategies and experiences.

Through the presentation of SLSU’s syllabus, the university's participation yielded several key action points to further institutionalize gender sensitivity and gender-transformative education. The enhanced syllabus is set to serve as a reference for future syllabus development and curriculum enhancement across the institution.

The four-day program concluded with a synthesis of commitments and the signing of the ASEAN Pledge of Commitment to Gender-Transformative Education. The pledge emphasized that true gender-transformative education is not limited to course content, but also extends to college and university policies, teaching methodologies, research, community extension services, and overall organizational culture.
