College of Allied Medicine Faculty Discusses Youth Vaping and Health Education at Casa del Niño Jesus de Lucban, Inc.

In an effort to address the rising concerns of youth vaping and its potential health implications, the College of Allied Medicine in partnership with Casa del Niño Jesus de Lucban, Inc. organized a comprehensive seminar titled "Vape and Its Health Effects: Youth Vaping, Smoking, and Nicotine Use,” on November 15, 2024. The seminar, aim to provide health awareness on various aspects of respiratory health, vaping, and smoking to faculty and students from the junior and senior high school levels. Prof. Charito Lilibeth A. Dator led the session by providing insights into self-awareness and health education concerning respiratory assessment aimed to equip participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of respiratory health and the potential impact of vaping and smoking on the respiratory system.

Meanwhile, Prof. Melvin D. Cadao delved into the basics of ecigarettes, vaping, and smoking, shedding light on the common health risks associated with these practices. Additionally, Prof. Aldrin Lopez contributed by discussing the gross anatomy of the lungs, diagnostic methods, and the diverse effects of e-cigarettes on respiratory health. The participants included both faculty and students from Casa del Niño Jesus de Lucban’s junior and senior high school levels, ensuring that a broad audience benefited from the valuable information shared during the seminar.
