The City Government of Tayabas is set to turn over an academic building valued at nearly PhP 16 million to benefit the students of Southern Luzon State University - Tayabas Campus.
The project was initiated by the late Mayor Ernida Agpi Reynoso, who allocated PhP 9,978,361.41 for its construction. Her daughter, the current Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso, continued the development, dedicating PhP 5,999,879.21 for the second phase, focusing on the building’s interior.
Capable of accommodating over 700 students, the academic building will be officially handed over to SLSU on October 24.
Additionally, the same City Government under the late Mayor Reynoso played a key role in the donation of the lot where SLSU Tayabas was established. On the other hand, the current city administration is working on finalizing the transfer of titles for the 50-hectare land, further solidifying its support for the university’s expansion.
