SLSU GAD conducts benchmarking activities at URS GAD Center

The SLSU GAD Focal Point System, headed by the VP-REPDI, Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, and SLSU GAD Director, Prof. Rene P. Zubieto, sought to acquire best practices from the University of Rizal System (URS). This visitation on March 5 underscored concerted efforts in GAD programs, featuring the cutting-edge Health and Wellness Center and the welcoming toddler's room.

Dr. Wilhelmina P. Masinsin, URS GAD Director, Dr. Marites M. Rio, URS VP-REP, and Dr. Niclie L. Tiratira, URS Morong Campus Director, together with the entire URS team welcomed the SLSU delegates with their enthusiastic support and warm hospitality.

Through the benchmarking visit, SLSU gained invaluable insights and identified several areas for improvement in facilitating the GAD Office and programs, including:

GAD Manual: Understanding the development, implementation, and effectiveness of the GAD manual at URS.

Child Minding Program: Learning about the structure, policies, and impact of the child-minding program at URS.

Handling VAWC (Violence Against Women and Children) Cases: Examining the protocols and procedures in addressing VAWC cases at URS.

Office ISO Processes: Gaining knowledge about the office’s adherence to ISO standards and continuous improvement processes at URS.

Sex Disaggregated Data: Exploring methods for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing sex-disaggregated data at URS.

Expenditure Monitoring: Review procedures for monitoring and managing GAD-related expenditures at URS.

GAD Plan and Budget: Understanding the process for planning, budgeting, and implementing GAD activities at URS.

This benchmarking activity is instrumental in enhancing GAD initiatives and reinforcing the university’s commitment to gender and development. The implementation of these best practices will further deepen the university’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment.
