
The 1st Quarter M.O.V.E. (Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere) Meeting was held on February 28, at the Municipal Sports Center in Macalelon, Quezon. For the first time, four representatives from Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) participated in the event, marking a significant milestone in the university's involvement in community initiatives.
This meeting marked the first time that representatives from SLSU attended the M.O.V.E. meeting. Their presence signifies a growing collaboration between educational institutions and community organizations in promoting social awareness and action.
During the meeting, attendees reviewed the successful Men’s Day Celebration held on December 1, 2024. This event saw the participation of over 2,000 men from various towns in Quezon province in a historic parade. The celebration was part of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) and Their Children, aimed at raising awareness and prompting action against violence.
The parade commenced at the Pacific Mall Parking Ground and concluded at the Quezon Convention Center. Members of MOVE Quezon led the march, emphasizing their commitment to fostering a safe and equitable society. Their leadership underscored the importance of collective efforts in combating violence and promoting gender equality.
