Southern Luzon State University Expands Clinical Affiliations in Quezon Province

In an effort to provide students with diverse clinical experiences close to home, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) has announced the expansion of its affiliating institutions within Quezon Province. These partnerships will offer SLSU students unparalleled opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world healthcare settings throughout the local region.

The university has forged agreements with several other healthcare facilities in Quezon Province, including:

  1. City Health Office Tayabas, located in Tayabas City
  2. Rural Health Unit Lucban, located in Lucban, Quezon
  3. Rural Health Unit Lying-in/Birthing Home, located in Lucban, Quezon
  4. Lucena Medical Mission Group (MMG) Hospital, located in Lucena City
  5. Lucena United Doctors Hospital and Medical Center Inc., located in Lucena City
  6. Tayabas Community Hospital Inc., located in Tayabas City

QMC signs MOA for College of Medicine Base Hospital

The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Quezon Medical Center (QMC) for the base hospital of the College of Medicine (COM), on Feb. 1, 2023.

Under the MOA, QMC allows the affiliation and training of the student clerks/medical interns of SLSU enrolled under the College of Medicine. Meanwhile, SLSU will be responsible for the medical education program, academic affairs, and assessment of the student clerks.

Currently, SLSU COM is still under institutionalization and is expected to operate this year, 2023.

 

SLSU CONDUCTED ITS ANNUAL PHYSICAL AND LABORATORY EXAMINATION OF REGULAR PERSONNEL 2023

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) in partnership with Healthline Medical Health Services (Manila) conducted its Annual Medical and Laboratory Examination for permanent and regular personnel on December 11-12, 2023 . All teaching and non-teaching employees participated in the examinations held at the SLSU Gymnasium and Covered Court in accordance to the UHS Memorandum No. 5, s. 2023.

SLSU Explores possible collaboration with Seymour Education & Learning Centres, Canadian Seniors Association and Hope Beacon Enterprises, Canada

On January 18, 2023, the Office of International and Alumni Affairs (OIAA) facilitated an exploratory meeting with Seymour Education & Learning Centres, Canadian Seniors Association and Hope Beacon Enterprises from Canada, to discuss for internationally educated nurses capacity building and a possible academic collaboration with Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), particularly the College of Allied Medicine.

The said meeting was attended by the SLSU President Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gondelina A. Radovan, OIAA Director Dr. Joanna Paula E. Verano together with OIAA staff, College of Allied Medicine Dean Dr. Dhenalyn Aquino, Program Chair (BS Nursing) Prof. Maria Luisa Baretto, SELC College Officials – President and CEO Mr. Patrick Dang, Director of Business Development Mr. Yatan Anand; HBE Canada Officials – Vice President of Clinical Services Ms. Liezl Hippsley, and the Vice President of Business Development Mr. Ron Villanueva.
