
Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) and Commission on Population and Development (CPD) IV-A expressed their mutual commitment through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on June 17, led by SLSU President, Dr. Frederick T. Villa, and Dir. Marilyn F. Ogaya, Regional Director of CPD IV-A.
The MOU outlines shared intentions to pursue initiatives, mainly on reproductive health, children’s welfare, gender development, and responsible parenthood.
During the event, CPD provided the necessary data sources, such as teenage pregnancy data and other population-related statistics. In support of this, several representatives from SLSU, including Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto, Director of the Office of Research Services, presented research projects related to gender issues, children’s welfare, and reproductive health.
Asst. Prof. Aurelio Teodoro D. Maguyon III, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), also presented university initiatives focused on student welfare, student development, and institutional services. Moreover, Ms. Myra T. Querijero, SLSU GAD OIC-Director, and Ms. Jaquelyn Merjudio, Crafts Education Demonstrator from the Office of Extension Services, presented the Program, Projects and Activities (PPAs) related to population and development.
