Today, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed Republic Act No. 12325, or An Act Enhancing the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, expanding and better targeting government assistance to disadvantaged learners, including qualified students from 4Ps households, and establishing a private education assistance program for students enrolled in priority programs.
CHED Chairperson and UniFAST Board Chair Shirley C. Agrupis witnessed the ceremonial signing at Malacañang together with DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara and TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez, underscoring the One Education approach of DepEd, CHED, and TESDA in providing more connected support for Filipino learners across all levels of education.
Also present were Senate President Win Gatchalian, House Speaker Faustino Dy, Sen. Bam Aquino, Rep. Marcelino Libanan, Rep. Jude Acidre, Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing, Rep. Roman Romulo, Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, Rep. Eulogio Rodriguez, Rep. Adrian Salceda, Rep. Antolin Oreta III, Rep. Ricardo Cruz Jr., and Acting DBM Secretary Kim Robert De Leon, reflecting the broad support behind efforts to strengthen access to education.
This marks another step toward helping more Filipinos not only enter higher and technical-vocational education, but stay in school, complete their studies, and contribute to building a stronger Bagong Pilipinas.
