SLSU Extension Services Programs/Projects Trust and Priorities
Environmental Governance
Agriculture and Rural Development
The university adheres to the participle that national development can be achieved through if only rural areas progress and attain social transformation. Moreover, as an agricultural nation, agricultural research projects and technologies must be disseminated and used at the farm level. Hence, the university intensifies its efforts in the technology diffusion and adoption process through its different campuses that offer agriculture-related curricular programs, such as College of Agriculture in Lucban, SLSU-Judge Guillermo Eleazar (Tagkawayan) Campus, SLSU Tiaong Campus, and SLSU Infanta Campus.
Community Development
A particular community or clientele group receives a series of activities and programs to uplift their socio-economic and cultural conditions. It can be through training, lectures, seminars, and demonstrations.
Technology Transfer
The university has a pool of experts and linkages which can serve as resource outputs and matured technology. For technology transfer, the university anchors on the following thrusts and priorities:
- Apiculture
- Organic Agriculture
- Arrow Root Production
- Bamboo Production
- Aquasilviculture
- Nipa Sugar Production
- Dilis with Malunggay Powder Production
- Smoked-fish Production
Livelihood and Skills Training
The main objective of livelihood and skills training is to enhance the capacity of out-of-school youth, women, farmers, retirees, repatriated OFWs, displaced workers, and other clienteles.
Institute of Environmental Governance Center
The Institute of Environmental Governance Program or IEG is the strategic response to the ever-increasing demand for capacity building of LGUs. The Program caters to two levels. SLSU and ISO meet for a collaborative meeting for environment-related programs in Quezon

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), through its Office of Extension Services, and the Institute of Social Order (ISO) meet for a collaborative meeting on January 14 at the ISO Office in Quezon City. The discussion focused on strengthening environment-related programs and projects in the province of Quezon.
The Institute of Social Order, a non-government organization (NGO) established in 1947, is dedicated to empowering the poor and marginalized, driving social transformation, and equipping communities to manage their local natural resources sustainably.
During this meeting, both parties discussed their current environment-related projects particularly ISO’s project, “Strengthening Integrated Resources Management in Coastal Communities in Quezon,
Philippines through Participatory Governance,” and SLSU’s collaboration project with Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. “Environmental Justice Sector Reform Program Phase 3 (EJSRP 3).”
This initial meeting marked a step toward aligning efforts to empower Quezon municipalities along the Philippine Rise, through capacity building and training. The collaboration aims to foster sustainable development and ensure the successful implementation of both projects ensuring environmental governance within their areas.
