The Office of Extension Services held its first meeting with the newly appointed and reappointed extension coordinators from the various colleges and campuses of the university on September 16, 2024. The meeting took place at the REPDI Training Center, REPDI Building, SLSU Main Campus, Lucban, and via Zoom.
Dr. Felino J. Gutierrez, Jr., the officer-in-charge of the office, opened the meeting by expressing his gratitude to the new and reappointed coordinators for taking on the role of extension coordinator for their respective college/campus. Meanwhile, in her address, Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, Vice President for REPDI, conveyed her appreciation to all participants and encouraged them to take this initiative in contributing to the university’s goals and objectives.
Ms. Arceli R. Obmerga, technical staff of OES, provided a detailed overview of the roles and responsibilities of an extension coordinator. Dr. Gutierrez followed up with a discussion on the current status of the university’s extension programs and projects, including the targets and accomplishments of each college and campus to date.
This meeting aimed to familiarize the new and reappointed extension coordinators with their roles and reinforce the university’s commitment to promoting community-driven development.
