Southern Luzon State University took its 18th Charter Day Celebration to the next level with a Wellness and Athletic Competition on March 24, proving that fitness and fun go hand in hand. The afternoon kicked off with an electrifying Zumba session, led by 3rd-year Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences students. With lively beats and energetic moves, participants, faculty and personnel alike, got their hearts pumping and bodies moving in preparation for the action-packed challenge ahead.
After the warm-up, teams of 10 members faced off in an intense obstacle course competition designed to test their endurance, agility, and teamwork. Each group pushed their limits, determined to cross the finish line with the fastest time. Group 1 dominated the course, clocking in at an impressive 7 minutes and 55 seconds. While Group 2 followed closely behind with a time of 7 minutes and 57 seconds, a razor-thin difference that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
As the competition wrapped up, wellness kits were distributed to participants as a token of appreciation for their dedication to fitness and well-being. To refuel after the action, the University Health Services provided a comforting serving of lugaw, ensuring everyone left with full hearts and full stomachs.
This event wasn’t just about winning, it was a celebration of health, camaraderie, and the unwavering SLSU spirit. It embodied the Charter Day theme, “Building a Better University and Serving the Greater Community,” by encouraging teamwork, resilience, and a commitment to well-being.
From heart-pounding obstacles to heartwarming moments, SLSU’s 18th Charter Day Wellness and Athletic Competition was a day to remember!
