SLSU Admin, sector reps engage in mid-year performance review & strategic catch-up planning

The Administrative Council (AdCo) and other officials of Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) convened for a three-day mid-year performance review and strategic catch-up planning session from June 30 to July 2 to evaluate institutional accomplishments, assess the progress of strategic initiatives, and identify priority actions to address existing gaps.

Joining the discussions were invited representatives from the Faculty Association, Employees Association, and Supreme Student Council Federation, reflecting SLSU’s commitment to participatory governance and collaborative decision-making. Together, the participants assessed and refined the university’s strategies and recalibrated commitments to achieve the targets set under SLSU’s Strategic Development Plan 2025-2030, ensuring that institutional efforts remain responsive to the needs of its stakeholders.

SLSU President Frederick T. Villa, together with the vice presidents and selected directors, presented updates on the accomplishments and performance of their respective offices. The Planning Office likewise consolidated and analyzed the university’s overall performance in accordance with its targets. The body then deliberated on the matters presented and suggested interventions to address the identified gaps.

Moving forward, President Villa gave a glimpse of what is ahead of SLSU, including the filling of plantilla positions for the College of Medicine and the newly approved positions for SLSU under the second tranche of the Revised Organization and Staffing Standards for State Universities and Colleges, the establishment of smart classrooms across the institution’s colleges and campuses, and the feasibility of offering a College of Law, among other initiatives.

Held on Alabat Island in conjunction with the SLSU Alabat Campus commencement exercises, the activity is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the different units to bring quality education and service to the people.
